Book Review: Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

I will admit, this book was a struggle but I loved it nonetheless. I first heard about it from Piera Forde's book channel on YouTube (who's video's I love btw, definitely check her out ). She just raved on and on about it and still does actually. I was unable to find it at any libraries near me so my mom ordered it for me. I read the first 100 pages or so but couldn't really get into the whole premise and the footnote thing. I put it down for a few months, moved across country, and 2 months after getting settled I picked it up again. I was up until 11:30pm reading this book and finished the last 50 pages or so the next morning. So yeah. I'm officially obsessed with this book and have Godsgrave (the second book in the Nevernight chronicles) on hold at my new local library. I can't wait to read it! OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed

Book Review: Unearthed by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

I have been in such a science fiction mood. This book really worked. It felt short, but it felt the right length at the same time. Unearthed is a treasure hunting-new planet exploration-teen romance story. It was also a little bit cheesy but so much better than These Broken Stars. I think it will take them a second to get their footing then they will hit the ground running with this series. I so excited to see what will happen in the second book. OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: When Earth intercepts a message from a long-extinct alien race, it seems like the solution the planet has been waiting for. The Undying's advanced technology has the potential to undo environmental damage and turn lives around, and Gaia, their former home planet, is a treasure trove waiting to be uncovered. For Jules Addison and his fellow scholars, the discovery of an alien culture offers unprecedented opportunity for study... as long as scavengers like Amelia Radcliffe don't loot everything first. Mia
