Book Tag: Marvel

In honor of Avengers: Infinity War coming out this month, I thought I would do a Marvel tag. It will be the same as last time, if you would like to do this, feel free! Q1. Iron Man: Favorite first book in a series? A1: Oh man, there are so many good first books. If you didn't like the first one, how did you move on in the series? But I think I have to go with A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab. I love that book to bits. Q2: Captain America: A book/series you've read that took place in another time period? A2:  The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. I loved the Victorian/steampunk vibe of the whole series 😍 Q3: Thor: Pick a character that appealed to you even more once they were cast for a movie/show. A3: Ruby Daly, from The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. Next question? Q4: Hawkeye: A book that you love but is not very popular? A4: I am choosing two for this one. The first is Defy The Stars by Claudia Gray. Think Westworld, but in Space. The secon

Book Review: Sightwtich by Susan Dennard

I loved this book so much! I had already pre-ordered my copy, but I was also lucky enough to win a giveaway of an E-arc (e-book, Advanced Readers Copy) of the book. I read it in a day, no joke. Because it was an ARC, the book didn't have all of the pictures or paragraphs/sentences, so I will definitely be reading my copy of the finished book; probably when I do a re-read of the series next year to prepare myself for Bloodwitch (one of my most anticipated 2019 releases!). So let's get into this!     This story takes place before Truthwitch, but it is meant to be read after Windwitch. OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:     Before Safi and Iseult battled a Bloodwitch...     Before Merik returned from the dead… Ryber Fortiza was a Sightwitch Sister at a secluded convent, waiting to be called by her goddess into the depths of the mountain. There she would receive the gift of foretelling. But when that call never comes, Ryber finds herself the only Sister without the Sight. Years pass and

Book Review: They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera

This book was beautiful. As a first time reader of Adam Silvera, I could not have chosen a better book to start with. I normally never read contemporary books, but this one had just enough of a fantastical element to it that it was okay. I read books to escape my world, not see it though somebody else's mind! It also had queer people of color, which is awesome. #RepresentationMatters OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:     On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today. Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day. MY THOUGHTS ON: CHARACTERS     Mateo Torrez is going to die today. He is an anxious kid with two friends. His

Book Review: One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

I loved this book so much. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus is a debut novel and I absolutely cannot wait to read her next book. I had this book on my radar for a while, but only recently got my hands on it. I read it in 2 days. I couldn't put it down. Then I gave it to my sister, and she couldn't put it down either! A classic mystery novel, set in a high school setting. I can't suggest this enough. However, I am putting a trigger warning in front of my review. During the book, suicide is mentioned a couple of times. Just an FYI. OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:     Pay close attention and you might solve this. On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention. Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule. Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess. Nate, the criminal , is already on probation for dealing. Cooper, the athlete , is the all-star baseball pitcher. And Simon, the outcast , is the creator of Bayview High&#
