Book Review: Sightwtich by Susan Dennard

I loved this book so much! I had already pre-ordered my copy, but I was also lucky enough to win a giveaway of an E-arc (e-book, Advanced Readers Copy) of the book. I read it in a day, no joke. Because it was an ARC, the book didn't have all of the pictures or paragraphs/sentences, so I will definitely be reading my copy of the finished book; probably when I do a re-read of the series next year to prepare myself for Bloodwitch (one of my most anticipated 2019 releases!). So let's get into this!     This story takes place before Truthwitch, but it is meant to be read after Windwitch. OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:     Before Safi and Iseult battled a Bloodwitch...     Before Merik returned from the dead… Ryber Fortiza was a Sightwitch Sister at a secluded convent, waiting to be called by her goddess into the depths of the mountain. There she would receive the gift of foretelling. But when that call never comes, Ryber finds herself the only Siste...

Book Review: Because You Love To Hate Me edited by Ameriie

I have been wanting to read this book for months since I heard it was coming out. When it finally did, I didn't have any money. I was eventually able to buy it when it went on sale as an e-book, because it was a contender for the 2017 Goodreads Choice awards. I finally got around to reading it. Here are my thoughts. OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: Leave it to the heroes to save the world--villains just want to rule the world. In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains' points of view. These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like "Medusa," Sherlock Holmes , and "Jack and the Beanstalk" provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains' acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage--and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again! Featuring writing from . . . Authors: R...

Book Review- Windwitch by Susan Dennard

The time has come to review one of my favorite books of 2017. I read it after I got it on Susan's Windwitch tour and again this month for a mini book club my sister created. I have officially gotten her hooked on the Witchlands. Now all she does is draw fan art of Safi and Merik, and Iseult and Aeduan. OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: Sometimes our enemies are also our only allies… After an explosion destroys his ship, the world believes Prince Merik, Windwitch, is dead. Scarred yet alive, Merik is determined to prove his sister’s treachery. Upon reaching the royal capital, crowded with refugees, he haunts the streets, fighting for the weak—which leads to whispers of a disfigured demigod, the Fury, who brings justice to the oppressed. When the Bloodwitch Aeduan discovers a bounty on Iseult, he makes sure to be the first to find her—yet in a surprise twist, Iseult offers him a deal. She will return money stolen from him, if he locates Safi. Now they must work together to cross the Wit...

Book Review- Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

I love The Witchlands series. I've also met Susan Dennard once, and she was very sweet and knowledgeable. She had some fun stories about writing the books, like what got scrapped, what needed to change before it became what it did. (Fun fact: Barnes and Noble wouldn't accept Threadwitch as a title from her because they thought it would sound too much like a knitting book. If she had named a book Threadwitch, they would not buy it and sell it at their store. So she had to push that story out and is writing the third Witchlands book, Bloodwitch, now; slated for a 2019 release.) OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: In a continent on the edge of war, two witches hold its fate in their hands. Young witches Safiya and Iseult have a habit of finding trouble. After clashing with a powerful Guildmaster and his ruthless Bloodwitch bodyguard, the friends are forced to flee their home. Safi must avoid capture at all costs as she's a rare Truthwitch, able to discern truth from lies. Many would ki...
