Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

As I read the last book in the Starbound trilogy, I can't help but feel sad and impressed at the same time. The books and writing just got better with each new release, and I'm super excited to see how their writing has improved and grown after writing one trilogy together, separate books without each other, and now Unearthed. I can't wait to read it!    On an unrelated but also kind of related note, I actually made a power point presentation and gave it to my parents on why one of them should take me out of state to see Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff on their Obsidio tour. So far, it's a maybe. Fingers Crossed! OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: A year ago, Flynn Cormac and Jubilee Chase made the now infamous Avon Broadcast, calling on the galaxy to witness for their planet, and protect them from destruction. Some say Flynn’s a madman, others whisper about conspiracies. Nobody knows the truth. A year before that, Tarver Merendsen and Lilac LaRoux were rescued from a terrible

Book Review: This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

I enjoyed this book far more than the first one, which gives me hope for the third one, which has the characters from the first two books and a set of two new characters; and they all work together. I thought the first one was kind of cheesy, but I mostly chalked that up to the authors finding their footing. What is interesting to me is having read the Iluuminae Files and some of these books, you can tell what parts of the Illuminae files Amie Kaufman did and had ideas for. It's pretty cool! OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: The second installment in the epic Starbound trilogy introduces a new pair of star-crossed lovers on two sides of a bloody war. Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met. Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents. Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable pla

Book Review: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

I had the opportunity to read this book when I was in fourth grade, but I found it too confusing. I finally got to read it when I chose the book for my Literature class. Disclaimer: this review counts as my Lit. project for the book. (hi, mom) OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger. "Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me be on my way. Speaking of way, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract". Meg's father had been experimenting with this fifth dimension of time travel when he mysteriously disappeared. Now the time has come for Meg, her friend Calvin, and Charles Wallace to rescue him. But can they outwit the forces of evil they will encounter on their heart-stopping jour

Hamilton Book Tag

In honor of Lin-Manuel Miranda's child being born, and because I love the Hamilton soundtrack, I wanted to do this book tag! Taken from Dreamland BookBlog who got it from Maureen Keavy. The Room Where It Happened: A book world I would put myself into  I would have to say A Darker Shade of Magic's Londons. Specifically Red London. I would love to explore the markets and castle and riverside and kingdoms. They Schuyler Sisters: An underrated female character One of my favorite underrated female characters is Lysandra from the Throne of Glass series. She is tough as nails, a "mother" and a shapeshifter. And almost no one talks about her! Everyone is all over Elide. (And in my opinion, Elide is overrated. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) My Shot: A character that goes after something they want and doesn't let anything stop them Aeduan from the Witchlands series. I think he is the perfect candidate for this question because that's all he ever does if go after things/people.
